The new Prevent Duty on schools 2015 and Ofsted requirements 2015 have created a situation
where schools will be judged around combating extremism and radicalisation.
- Nationally and locally young people are being recruited into groups promoting hatred, discrimination and sometimes violence against those who do not share their ideologies.
- To date hundreds of young British people have travelled abroad to join established terrorist groups.
- Others have been recruited to commit acts of terror at "home".
WHAT VULNERABILITIES DO THESE YOUNG PEOPLE PRESENT WITH?
HOW ARE THEY RECRUITED?
WHAT ARE SCHOOLS EXPECTED TO DO?
We aim to explore and address these questions through the "Towards Cultural Competence! Workshop.
